Aimee Bell
Founder – Managing Director & Teacher
Aimee is a Dru Yoga and gentle exercise teacher. Aimee has been practicing Yoga and Meditation since 2013. Aimee founded AMALAwellness in 2019, setting up as a Community Interest Company in September 2021. Aimee is passionate about Dru Yoga, Meditation, exercise, running and the positive effects it can bring to individuals and – local communities. People – their stories and triumphs through attending AMALAwellness’ classes inspire and motivate Aimee every day. A belief that people, no matter what age or ability – can improve their physical and mental wellbeing is what drives Aimee to dedicate her life and career to Dru Yoga and AMALAwellness.

Ella Bains
Director and Session Facilitator
Ella is an Occupational Therapist and founder of Eric Knows, a Community Interest Company that supports those with Autism and Disabilities. Ella runs community groups and works with a neuro-divergent team, developing a website where it is easy to find accessible places and days out for all. Ella is keen to develop fun, engaging Chair Exercise sessions for Autistic adults with mindfulness practices involved.

Hannah L
Non-Executive Director
Hannah is a is a Podiatrist in the Diabetes dept. of James Cook Hospital, who is passionate about making Yoga, Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques accessible to all. Hannah has supported people in the local community with their physical wellbeing for several years, working in The NHS and specialising in Podiatry. The experience and knowledge through these roles helps to guide the growth of AMALAwellness CIC.

Trish C
Non- Executive Director
Trish is an integral part of AMALAwellness, driving and guiding policies for the CIC behind the scenes, through lived experiences. The whole team is grateful for her time and dedication to the board, supporting the successful running of the CIC. Trish also supports the running of our regular Cafe AMALA sessions across Teesside.

Thelma
Administrative Manager and Cafe AMALA Facilitator
Thelma is supporting Team AMALA with delivering Cafe AMALA sessions, as well as supporting with administrative tasks, student & staff welfare. Thelma has worked in the VCSE sector for over 20 years, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and is passionate about building supportive communities in Teesside.

Philip
Yoga & Gentle Exercise Teacher / Chair Exercise Teacher
Philip is teaching Gentle Yoga and Exercise/ Chair Exercise for AMALAwellness. Philip is known for his own unique, fun and friendly engaging classes. Philip brings a wealth of knowledge and practice to the team, sharing his passion for Yoga with his students. Philip is skilled at adapting practice for a range of abilities.

Louise
Chair Yoga & Exercise Teacher and Sound Bath Facilitator
Louise is a trained Yoga teacher and Chair Exercise Teacher. She looks after our ‘Keep Moving Teesside!’ Chair Yoga and Exercise classes on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, as well as running workshops and courses for AMALAwellness. Knowledgeable and friendly, she makes the classes really accessible and fun. Louise also runs monthly sound-baths. Louise specialises in helping people relax and reach a peaceful state through sound therapy.

Claire & Tracey
Tai Chi Teachers
Claire and Tracey teach our Tai Chi Chuan classes. They have been practitioners and teachers for over a decade, studying under world renowned teacher John Ding. Classes include Qi-Gong and meditation. Claire and Tracey are very knowledgeable and love sharing their passion for Tai Chi with the people of Teesside.
